Our exclusive Benriach 2013 Triple Sherry Cask has scored a whopping 98/100 points at 2025’s International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC).
Founded in 1969, the IWSC tastes, scores, recognises and crowns the world's best drinks.
The IWSC Scotch Whisky Awards is overseen by Richard Paterson OBE, who is also known as 'The Nose' — one of the most respected figures in the Scotch whisky industry. Widely regarded as one of the greatest whiskymakers of his generation, Paterson spent almost five decades as Master Distiller at The Dalmore.
”An evocative and alluring blend of cedar, polished oak, sultanas, and ginger notes, enlivened with a generous sprinkling of baking spices,” said the judging panel. “The palate showcases a sherry cask influence, which imbues the fruit core with a great richness and depth.”
Made for the Club exclusively by the maker of the Club's 2023 Whisky of the Year, Dr Rachel Barrie, it’s been a triumphant year for this beautifully balanced vintage Speyside; earlier this month it scored Double Gold at The San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
“Working with our friend Dr Rachel, we knew we had a winner on our hands,” The Whisky Club’s Director of Whisky Seamus Carroll says. Members loved it and it’s excellent to see it’s getting such critical acclaim, too. Members can look forward to more gold-medal-winning malts from the good doctor in the future.”
