The Whisky Club appoints Craig Johnstone as Head of Whisky Creation

The Whisky Club’s exclusives have never looked so good. We’re excited to announce Former Cask Mastery Lead and whiskymaker for The Macallan will lead whisky creation at The Whisky Club.

Johnstone, a native Scotsman, has more than 20 years' international experience in the whisky industry.

His previous roles include cask mastery lead and whiskymaker for The Macallan, the world’s most prestigious and sought-after single malt. Other roles include Master Blender for The Famous Grouse, and Whisky Blender, Wood Manager and Distiller at Lark Distilling. Craig has also worked at Bruichladdich Distillery Company, Brown-Forman, Glenkinchie Distillery and others.

For Johnstone, it’s a return of sorts. 

“I was a Member back in Australia and have missed the Club hugely since returning to Scotland to make whisky for The Macallan,” says Johnstone.

“I’m so excited to be re-joining The Whisky Club in a professional capacity. It's a unique opportunity to work with the world’s best distilleries making even better whisky for the world’s biggest whisky community.”

And we’re thrilled to have him, too.
