Whisky exclusives don’t get any bigger than this. Think about it – Glenmorangie is one of the biggest and most iconic distilleries on the planet. With those credentials, Glenmorangie doesn’t create exclusive whiskies for anyone. Unless you’re a Whisky Club Member.

The Whisky Club’s exclusive Glenmorangie 13 Year Old Moscatel Cask is making news around the whisky world, appearing in spirits magazine The Spirits Business,
international blogs Whisky Updates and Whisky Monkey as well as local publications Drinks Trade,  Melbourne Insider and Made.

And it’s easy to see why the whisky world is paying attention. Dr Bill Lumsden, Glenmorangie’s Head Whiskymaker, has been crowned World’s Best Master Distiller seven times and is one of the most influential figures in modern Scotch whisky.

“It’s an absolute honour to work with Dr Bill and the Glenmorangie team for this release,” said Seamus Carroll, General Manager of The Whisky Club.

“A Whisky Club release gives the world's best whiskymakers the chance to create something unprecedented. It's these hidden parcels of casks, personal projects or superlative barrel selections that become Club releases. This is a whisky that will remind long-time whisky drinkers why they fell in love with Glenmorangie and deliver newcomers a truly unrepeatable single malt.”

Originally laid down as a pilot batch of Moscatel dessert wine casks filled for a secondary maturation to evolve and improve the famed Nectar d’Or recipe, the majority of the liquid in the Glenmorangie 13 Year Old Moscatel Cask was distilled in 2009, putting it close to actually being 16 years old. It was also the first time the distillery had ever filled Moscatel dessert wine casks, making this the first time Moscatel-matured Glenmorangie has ever been released.

“I’m not doing anything like this again because obviously we’re giving this to you with this guarantee of exclusivity,” said Dr Lumsden.

Non-Members of The Whisky Club can join the Club free before midnight Sunday 11 January to get a bottle.
