Jack Daniel's 10 Year Old Batch 4 is the fourth release of Jack Daniel's aged in virgin oak casks for a full decade.
Jack Daniel's Tennessee whiskey is ubiquitous. Show us a bar, and they'll have a bottle of Jack. But Jack with an age statement, never mind one that has taken a decade to produce, is limited to the extreme. High angels' share means there's a whole lot less Jack in the barrel. But also a lot more complexity, fragrance and Tennessee whiskey goodness.
Released annually, only two batches have ever left the USA. Only one batch hit Australian shores and with less than 3,000 bottles globally, we didn't get many. Batch 4 was one of our most sought-after limited release whiskies ever.

Limited edition whisky FAQs
What makes a whisky a limited edition?
For us, a limited edition is a whisky with a limited number of bottles available. They often take a unique twist on a core range product or form series of small batch releases, and they definitely offer a talking point in the glass.
How many bottles are usually produced in a limited edition release?
The number of bottles will entirely depend on the distillery, but will usually be limited to the hundreds or thousands of units. Something from The Macallan that is released globally will likely have more bottles released than something from a local distillery in Tasmania for example. Usually, we are talking numbers of bottles in the thousands.
Are limited edition whiskies better quality than standard releases?
Limited edition whisky is not necessarily better than a standard release. But they should definitely have an obvious point of difference.
As with all whisky, the quality is in the eye (or nose) of the beholder. They should offer a new story to tell versus core range, and may amplify a part – or parts – of the house style. Occasionally they might change our perception of a house style completely.
How can I get access to limited edition whiskies in Australia?
Limited edition whiskies are available throughout Australia, often in smaller retailers or bottle shops as well as here at The Whisky Club. If you're looking for someone to help you make a selection or curate a narrower selection, there is no better place to look than here at the Club.
Does The Whisky Club offer exclusive limited edition whiskies?
Yes, we do feature exclusive limited edition whiskies just for our Members. Many of The Whisky Club whiskies are created exclusively for us and only available through Membership of the Club, making them limited editions by default. We also scour the globe to find the best upcoming non-exclusive limited releases and offer them to our Members each month.
What’s the difference between a limited edition and a core range whisky?
A core range whisky will showcase a house style, consistent oak policy and should taste the same every time you have a glass. Think of it like your favourite TV show you've seen a million times or your Gran's scone recipe. A limited edition from the same distillery will add a twist; a Better Call Saul vs a Breaking Bad, or that time your partner added chilli to the pasta sauce. It may not happen again, but it's worth exploring the journey.
Do limited edition whiskies increase in value over time?
Some limited editions have increased in value over time, many others have not. It all depends on distillery, hype, availability and number of bottles available. Our advice is to only buy whisky you can afford to drink.
Can I drink a limited edition whisky, or is it better kept sealed?
You absolutely can drink a limited edition whisky. They were produced to tell a story and finding the right occasion to pop one open is a huge part of the fun. Keeping it sealed is a bit like going to the cinema and just looking at the movie poster. (Not that we don't love a good movie poster.)
How do I store limited edition whiskies to preserve their value?
Keeping a limited edition whisky sealed will keep its sell-on value. All whiskies should be kept upright, ideally out of direct sunlight. Turn them every few months to keep the cork moist, but don't store them on their side. If you can keep them out of extreme temperature fluctuations, even better. However, we do believe that a limited edition whisky realises its true value when it's cracked open with friends.
How often does The Whisky Club release limited edition whiskies?
We will have limited edition whiskies available every month through the Club exclusively for our Members.
