Westward Vintage Muscat Cask — Why Club Members get a Passport to Taste the World’s Best Whisk(e)y

One worldwide adventure, one goal: make the ultimate whisk(e)y for Members, just in time for Christmas.

If you’ve been a Member long enough or you hang out in our neck of the whisky woods, you’ll already know that the Club loves Westward Whiskey. We first collaborated with Portland’s craft superstars in 2017, and since then we’ve released seven whiskeys together.

And in 2021, we created a whiskey that we still get requests for Westward Whiskey Single Malt Rum Cask. People now pay more than double the release price when the rum cask pops up for sale at auction.

Members sent it to the top of the class in 2021 and crowned it our highly coveted Whisky of the Year.

“This whiskey is years in the making,” says The Whisky Club’s Seamus Carroll. “We’ve visited countless vineyards and reviewed countless casks and samples.”

We go to the ends of the earth with the world’s best distilleries to create the ultimate whisky for our Members. So, that’s what we did. We embarked on a worldwide pursuit for whiskey excellence.

“We quite literally travelled the world to make this whiskey,” Westward’s Maser Blender Miles Munroe says.

And we ended up here in our own backyard and into the vineyard of Stanton & Killeen in Australia’s globally renowned fortified region in Rutherglen, Victoria.

“After diving through their casks, back vintages and bottles we found the perfect liquid. Averaging 12 years of age to complement Westward’s spirit: the classic Muscat 12 year old.  

Imagine Westward’s trademark big, bold spirit with even more incredible richness and complexity, thanks to those luscious Muscat casks, with an undercurrent of butterscotch and a lingering mouthful of sticky toffee.

“Tasting this whiskey develop, one thing became apparent,” Seamus says. “It’s so rich and decadent, it’d be perfect on the Christmas dinner table next to your Christmas pudding.”
