For me, that’s at 14 years old … it’s the sweet spot of bright fruit, really ripe tropical fruit and stunning malt.”

— Bruichladdich Master Blender Adam Hannett

The masters of unpeated Islay single malt have taken it to the next level. At a monster 14 years old, this is the oldest ever 100% Islay barley Bruichladdich ever bottled, and the perfect first batch is coming exclusively to Members of The Whisky Club, before anyone else in the world.

To give you an idea of how unprecedented this age statement is, every previous Bruichladdich Islay Barley vintage bottling has topped out at 6–8 years old. Those beloved vintages established Bruichladdich as the masters of truly local Scotch single malt, and now Club Members get a bottle that’s had close to twice the time to mature. Drawn from the rare remnants of 2011’s vintage stocks – the last year the distillery was independently owned and run – the quality of spirit and extra years of maturation are undeniable in the glass.

Matured in a classic Bruichladdich combination of juicy American oak and rare French oak (including first-growth Bordeaux and super-fruity Sauternes casks), the distinctive character of the 100% locally grown barley is elevated to levels we’ve never seen in a Bruichladdich before.

The rest of the world wishes they had first access to drams like this, but only Club Members will get it as November’s Whisky of the Month, from Friday November 6th.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0722/1185/7487/files/bruichladdich14yoislaybarley_pdp_main-largernew.png?v=1790853495
https://thewhiskyclub.com.au/products/bruichladdich-islay-barley-unpeated-14-year-old-club-exclusive-batch
