{"product_id":"bushmills-archive-ballot","title":"Bushmills Archive Release Ballot","description":"\u003cp\u003eOur collaborations with Bushmills encapsulate what it means to be a Member of The Whisky Club.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWith these exclusive, headline-grabbing expressions made specifically for passionate, whiskey-loving Members, the Bushmills team have flexed their creative muscles for these one-off releases over the course of half a decade.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThese have been some of the most celebrated and requested releases from Members – twice voted Whisky of the Year, in 2022 and 2024 – while also being the envy of many, many international whiskey fans.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe latter is a fact backed up by spectacular auction prices across Ireland and Europe, where bottles have gone for as much as 17x their release price in subsequent years.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAfter much hunting (and a dip into our own archive) we’ve pulled together a secret stash of these releases, which we’re now offering to Members at the original release price of $140.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThere certainly aren’t enough to go around, so make sure you enter the ballot before 12pm on Thursday 12 February. A whisky that sold at European auction sites for as much as $2,700 AUD following its release in October 2020. Matured in Oloroso Sherry and ex-Bourbon casks, this was finished in Marsala casks.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMembers will remember \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eraisins\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ecinnamon\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003edelicate toffee apple\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e on the nose, a \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003erichly honeyed\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e palate with \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ecaramelised brown sugar\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003evanilla\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ealmonds\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003espiced fruit\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, and a strong, slightly dry finish with \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ewarming ginger\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003espiced pear\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ca title=\"Bushmills 2010 Vintage Double Moscatel Cask\" href=\"\/products\/bushmills-2010-double-moscatel-cask\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBushmills 2010 Vintage Double Moscatel Cask\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e98\/100, Double Gold, World’s Best Irish Single Malt shortlisted, Members’ 2024 Whisky of the Year – there’s few accolades that our Double Moscatel Cask hasn’t received. And it shows, selling for the equivalent of over $1,000 AUD in Europe. This was matured in Oloroso Sherry casks, before a long, lush finish in 52.5% Valencia Moscatel and 47.5% Setubal Moscatel casks.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIntense rolling notes of \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ewarm honey\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ejuicy mandarin\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ebold jammy fruits\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, and a \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003egentle allspice finish\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, with a full-bodied structure.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003ca title=\"Bushmills 2012 Vintage Burgundy Cask\" href=\"\/products\/bushmills-2012-burgundy-cask\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBushmills 2012 Vintage Burgundy Cask\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eOriginally released October 2022 and long thought lost, this was our Members’ 2022 Whisky of the Year. A couple of Members took bottles with them for their European Christmas holidays, it seems.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe first ever Christmas Causeway from Bushmills, this was exclusively matured in first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks.
