These 600L casks often receive repairs to their staves and cask ends, and so end up as a blend of both American and European oak, bringing further complexity to the whisky.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAs with all \u003ca href=\"\/collections\/dalmore\"\u003eDalmore\u003c\/a\u003e, the double gold-winning Port Wood Reserve is initially matured in American oak ex-Bourbon casks, laying down foundations for the hand-selected Tawny Port Pipes to work their magic with… bringing sumptuous layers of \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003erich plumbs\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eorange\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ecoffee\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003esweet cherry\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e.
