New management tasked Master Distiller John Peterson, a highly-accomplished industry veteran with over 40 years’ experience, with the careful development and revival of Glen Scotia’s single malts. One of the advantages of its years spent as a supplier of fillings for blends means that Glen Scotia has a good degree of in-built flexibility, able to produce a variety of styles including medium, heavily and un-peated whisky with either nutty or fruity characters. The result is any whisky maker’s dream – a diverse barrel stock to work with!

In much the same vein as last month’s Loch Lomond, the Glen Scotia 15 Year Old is a seriously delicious and impressive malt unlike anything we’re used to. Dare we say it even goes one or two steps further. The highly complex dram starts off on the nose almost fooling you into thinking it’s a Speyside, but on the first sip the distinctive Campbeltown marine notes immediately remind you that you’re in possession of something far more special and unique. It’s incredibly well put-together with excellent balance and maturity and the critics agree; it landed Double Gold at the 2016 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and Gold at both the World Whiskies Awards and International Wine and Spirits Competition.

Available in Australia for the very first time and exclusive to Club members only, Glen Scotia 15 Year Old is set to be your new favourite whisky, and alongside February’s Kilkerran 12 Year Old, like us you’ll be crying out for a Campbeltown whisky revival!
