It was also the first time the distillery had ever filled Moscatel casks, making this the first Moscatel-matured Glenmo ever released.

When building the whisky for the Club, Dr Bill drew a selection of casks that worked particularly nicely together, before marrying them with some casks that had been filled later for balance (and explaining why the label says 13, not 16). He bottled this without chill filtration or any added colour at an elegant 48.2% ABV.

The results are mind-blowing. Glenmorangie’s trademark full-flavoured elegance is on full show, with the lengthy, seven-year secondary Moscatel maturation adding flavours of strawberry creams, choc orange, Anzac biscuit, creamy vanilla custard, baked apples and dark spice, plus some lovely light florals on the nose that only Moscatel casks can deliver.

Enjoy this world-first dram exclusively from the Whisky Club with a hand-blown crystal Glencairn Glass, valued at $70.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0722/1185/7487/files/glenmorangie13yomoscatel-glencairn_pdp_main.png?v=1787700612
https://thewhiskyclub.com.au/products/glenmorangie-13-year-old-moscatel-cask-crystal-glencairn-gift-pack
