Westward saw a massive opportunity and have used some of these barrels to finish their whiskey for an additional year for our Whisky of the Month in August 2021.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBut Head Distiller Miles Munroe had an ace up his sleeve – to make the best even better, he set aside a number of casks for an extra six months bringing the total time in the rum casks to 18 months.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe result? Westward Whiskey Single Malt Rum Cask Batch 2 brings even more of those rich \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ebrown suga\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cstrong\u003er\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e notes that we saw in the first release. It’s like everything’s been cranked up to 11. Bright notes of \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003etangy tangerine\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ethe tropics\u003c\/strong\u003e \u003c\/em\u003elead to \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ecrunchy sugar cane\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003evanilla bean custard\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e on the palate before a \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003emassive finish\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e of \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBanoffee pie\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003erichly toasted spiced oak\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e rolls in and lingers on the tongue forever.
