Twenty years ago Anthony Wills founded the first distillery to be built on Islay in over 124 years. And Kilchoman is something truly special – the first farm distillery on the island AND one of just four farm distilleries in the whole of Scotland.
Since the release of its very first whisky, this Kilchoman has quickly reached the enviable position of being a massively sought-after, collectable distillery, which is certainly no small feat in a country that has over 150 whisky distilleries.
In a few weeks, we’ll be sitting down with Anthony Wills to share a dram of one of his best yet – the 100% Islay Madeira Cask – and to chat about the journey of founding his paddock-to-bottle distillery and his secret to creating such astoundingly good quality drams.
