We’re proud to introduce Benrinnes to the Whisky Club catalogue for the first time. The distillery’s meatier and heavier style of spirit is reminiscent of super-traditional Scotch (think retro Glenfarclas or classic Mortlach), presented here at 15 years old. Finished in a PX hogshead, it’s juicier than anything, bursting in at 56.7% ABV with raisins, butterscotch, choc chip cookies and syrupy orange jam.
Rarely seen outside of independent bottlings, this is the first Benrinnes created exclusively for the Club from Berry Bros. & Rudd, one of the prestige names in the world of drinks.
Founded in 1698 at No. 3 St James’s Street, London, it’s the UK’s oldest spirits and wine merchant. Today, over 325 years later, the business is still running from the same address, and owned by the same family. Originally a grocery store, Berry Bros. shifted their focus to liquor in the very early 1800s, later joining forces with fellow wine merchant Hugh Rudd to become Berry Bros. & Rudd in 1920. They’ve had access to the absolute cream of the crop when it comes to whisky stocks for close to two centuries now, sitting them at the very pinnacle of the liquor trade.
When their bottles land in Australia, they don’t last long – especially with screamingly good specs, like this single cask we’ve snagged just for Club Members. Benrinnes 15 Year Old Pedro Ximénez Single Cask is bottled straight from the cask: non-chill filtered, natural in colour, and at natural cask strength of 56.7% ABV.
It was available exclusively to Club Members in strictly limited numbers.
