Bourbon geek institution Kentucky Owl have lifted their game in their partnership with Japanese Master Blender Yahisa Yusuke, bringing a distinctly Japanese feel to their legendary classic Bourbon.
It’s a collaboration unlike anything you’ve ever seen. Rather than adding a distinct finish to the whiskey, Yahisa has kept Kentucky Owl’s ingredients exactly as is, instead choosing to blend this Kentucky Straight spirit in a way that encapsulates the perfect Japanese dram – balanced from start to finish. Named ‘Takumi’ (meaning ‘master’ in Japanese), this evenly complex creation is a masterpiece in artful blending.
Let the first sip sit with you and weave its complexity as Kentucky Owl thread the needle between Bourbon and Japanese whisky. With buttered rye bread and tropical fruits on the nose, the palate quickly unfurls multiple layers of gooey toffee and raspberry jubes, creamy mocha and an array of oak spices.
