99% 18-YEAR-OLD LEDAIG
July 2026
Living Souls Ninety Nine & One
18-year-old Ledaig for $135? This smoky-bacon, single batch limited edition is a phenomenal fluke that shouldn’t exist. But thanks to a very happy accident in a distillery, Whisky Clubbers get this 99% single malt vatting at an unbeatable price.

Campfire bacon, sherried fruitiness and peppery spice are bolstered with rich tobacco and juicy citrus. What makes this whisky so special
Looks like meat’s back on the menu.
The clue to the story behind this dram’s in the name: 99% is a single malt from “a famous heavily-peated Islands distillery” (it’s Ledaig), matured for 18 years in Sherry and American oak casks. That other 1%? A tiny sliver of 3-year-old grain whisky, added by accident, and virtually undetectable.
With the tell-tale oiliness of non-chill filtration and bottled at the distillery’s standard 46.3% ABV, there’s a wallop of dried orange, white pepper and juicy grapefruit amongst all the campfire bacon, smoke and sherried fruitiness. It drinks like a pristine single malt – just one with a great story attached to it. It’s all natural colour, as well.
An official Ledaig bottling of the same age would usually cost between $200–255; but as this is a '99-1' blend, Club Members will pay just $135 for this delight.
Smoke lovers, beware. Falling in love with this dram is very easy, but as a true one-off release, nobody will be able to buy it ever again – unless another happy accident befalls a vat of Ledaig, that is...
Club Members, got theirs at a dastardly good Club-exclusive price in July 2026.

Living Souls’ History
Founded in Glasgow in 2024, Living Souls is an independent bottler created by three veterans in the whisky industry: Calum Leslie, former head of innovation at Loch Lomond Group; Jamie Williamson of Kilninian Drinks Co.; and John Torrance, spirits-sourcing specialist from Douglas Laing and Tullibardine.
Living Soul explores single malts, grains, blended malts and Scotch blends, with a particular focus on interesting casks and "memorable limited-edition whiskies".
Their first releases arrived in 2024, ranging from a 15-year-old blended Scotch through to a 40-year-old blend. Since then the range has expanded with increasingly experimental and well-aged bottlings. The majority of their releases are presented naturally, without chill filtration or added colour. Keep an eye out, whisky lovers!
