Overview
Wolfburn’s an obscure and frost-bitten whisky distillery – one of the most northerly on the Scottish mainland – which was closed in 1825 and didn’t reopen 'till 2013. While the odd bottle does pop up in Australia, it’s a crying shame there’s almost no single casks available in Australia – so we’ve decided to haul one in ourselves, exclusively for Clubbers.
But we haven’t bottled just any single cask for you (as if we would). This is Wolfburn’s 13th cask ever filled, laid down 12 years ago, making this the oldest whisky they've ever released in Australia. Production began Burns Night, 25 January 2013, and this comes from those very first days of production.
Bottled straight from its barrel at cask strength of 52.5% ABV, it’s no-nonsense without a hint of chill filtration or added colour; ready to put hairs on your chest.
As a coastal dram through and through, this is a silky glassful of vanilla ice cream with salted butterscotch that’ll melt straight across your palate. Be warned, you’ll be reaching for another glass in no time.
There were exactly 282 bottles available in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scenario, exclusively available to Club Members.
