Overeem 10 Year Old Lightly Peated Sherry Cask

We’re thrilled to unveil the second release in our collection of high-calibre limited edition Aussie age statement whiskies.

Not only is this the first-ever ten-year-old the Aussie darlings have ever released, it’s also a relic of Aussie whisky history — it’s one of the last casks distilled by Aussie legend and founder Casey Overeem.

Both Casey Overeem and Bill Lark are founders of the modern Aussie whisky industry. And they’ve been mates for a long time, too.

Back in the early days, all of Overeem’s wash was brewed at Lark’s distillery in Cambridge. It was all lightly peated as well — using peat from the Tassie highlands — while those notes were hidden by the cask influence. 

Not this one. You won’t have tasted anything like this one-off Overeem before.

Casey Overeem himself chose a standout refill Sherry cask to beautifully frame and showcase the delicate peat influence. 

“This cask delivered such an exceptional whisky in 2013, and I believed it still had more to give. 10 years later I'm thrilled I decided to refill it,” Casey said. 

Bottled at 59.5% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, expect glorious rich layers of hazelnut praline, chewy toffee, nougat and dried plum, with delicate Tasmanian highland smoke.
