A tasting of seven Sullivans Cove whiskies, including the Whisky Club exclusive Double Cask Batch Strength.
Sullivans Cove are in rarified air – since winning World’s Best Single Malt i ... n 2014, they’ve won World’s Best Single Cask another three times at the World Whiskies Awards, and accordingly attract some pretty eye-watering prices on the secondary market.
Now they’ve made their first ever batch strength version of the award-winning Double Cask exclusively for The Whisky Club, and it’s also the first time Double Cask’s been made using only fortified and wine casks.
This means the darkest, richest Double Cask ever: proper 55.4% ABV, and an unprecedented riot of rich red fruit, caramel and spice, thanks to the never-before-seen marriage of French oak Tawny, Pinot Noir, American oak Apera and of course the same Chardonnay casks that just picked up “World’s best single cask” at the WWAs.
In an exclusive launch event we’ll be tasting a crazy seven whiskies from Sullies. As well as the Batch Strength, we’ll dig into some other Double Cask expressions and a series of single casks that will serve as a deconstruction of our exclusive release.
To be co-hosted by the team at Sullivans Cove and The Whisky Club.
What we’ll be enjoying:
Sullivans Cove Double Cask DC0095 49.5%
Sullivans Cove Double Cask DC0122 47.8%
Sullivans Cove French Oak Chardonnay SC0822 50%
Sullivans Cove American Oak Apera SC1401 50%
Sullivans Cove French Oak ex-Tawny FOTB1 50%
Sullivans Cove French Oak Pinot Cask SC0362 47.6%
Sullivans Cove x The Whisky Club Double Cask Batch Strength WCDC01 55.4%
Doors at 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
Please note, line-up subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances like boats being delayed or exciting bottles dropping into our laps. Read more
