Overview
We’ve been waiting a long time for this, and finally, it's here. Alinta is the latest creation from Master Distiller Dr Nick Savage, and Club Members get exclusive first access to it in Australia.
Since David Prior recommissioned the distillery, just a few weeks of still time a year has been dedicated to making heavily peated spirit, some of which was used in the Bladnoch Ember Casks, Created Exclusively for the Club. But Alinta takes peated Bladnoch to the max, using 100% peated malt.
Savage says “Alinta combines PX Sherry and ex-Bourbon casks to showcase the combination of these distinct flavours - it is an amazing balance of rich raisin-like sweetness and smoky campfire that sets it apart from anything else in Bladnoch’s selection of single malts.”
And what a whisky it is too; at 55ppm it’s big and viscous with ice cream, delicate floral notes, dried fruits, and sweet oak, playing off the campfire smoke and sweet peat. Coming in at 47% ABV, without chill-filtration and with natural colour, this is a powerful whisky that carries the essence of Bladnoch alongside the smoky notes in the glass.
And it's just won Gold at The Scotch Whisky Masters 2022 competition!

Bladnoch's History
For Bladnoch we’re headed deep into the south of the Scottish Lowland – a Scotch whisky region we don’t often visit – and a distillery that sits even further south than the Isle of Arran and Campbeltown.
