August at The Whisky Club

Well, how do you like them apples?

We’ve loving all the ripper reviews and love for last month’s Glenmorangie French XO Calvados Cask. Here’s what some of your fellow Members had to say:

“Damn this is good, and The Whisky Club has nailed it AGAIN!!!”
— Tony H, Member since 2020

“Just opened it and as usual Glenmorangie have come up with the goods. My favourite tipple bar none, Glenmorangie delivers again.”
— Bob L, Member since 2020

“Sensational!!! Glad I got a double-up.”
— David F, Member since 2018

We caught up with the inimitable Dr Bill on Monday and heard a few secrets, the true meaning of Glenmorangie, and yes… someone asked the question about a certain ‘up-and-coming’ pop singer.

We also hung out with Rob and Tim Polmear from Waubs earlier in the month and talked all things crayfish, ab diving and rusty barrel hoops. The pure whisky quality coming from these guys is unreal, as many more of you now know after tasting our Waubs Harbour Rusted Casks.

Member Tom Fehlandt went the extra mile, pairing his Rusted Casks with brisket smoked using barrel shavings that he got from Waubs distillery itself. Sadly, no photos, and no invite… we’ll have to imagine how succulent a pairing this was.

Can’t wait to see you at our next live stream to talk and taste our limited-edition Morris Double Port Barrel with Darren and Seamus.

We were also honoured to speak at the Australian branch meeting of Keepers of the Quaich, an organisation that recognises those who evangelise Scotch whisky. To commemorate the evening, we worked with our friends at Glenfarclas on a bespoke bottling of a 25-year-old single cask. It was a truly special whisky to mark a truly special occasion.

Speaking of special occasions, we had a blast catching up with people during Tasmanian Whisky Week at our Clubhouse, The Still, to celebrate the Club’s anniversary. Those lucky enough to join us got a taste of the whiskies in our Decade Series, and absolutely raved! We can't wait to share more of these incredible whiskies with you soon.

We asked Members to share their best maritime inspired pictures with their Waubs Rusted Casks, and they delivered some beauties. Check them out for yourself.

Cheers to a fantastic month!
