Bushmills 2010 Double Moscatel Cask — a contender for World’s Best Irish Whiskey

Our Member-exclusive Bushmills 2010 Double Moscatel Cask has taken on all-comers to secure the crown for Whisky of the Year 2024 (ahem, 'Whiskey') at The Whisky Club. This is arguably the biggest accolade the whisky world has to offer, when you consider the kinds of exclusive whiskies only available at the Club.

Not content with the Club's biggest gong, this unique offering from The Old Bushmills distillery also scored a whopping 98/100 points and Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) 2024. It was also on the shortlist to take out the ultimate accolade: Best Single Malt Irish Whiskey.

Here’s what the judges had to say: “Bushmill’s Irish Whiskey Causeway Collection 2010 Double Moscatel is a premium single malt that showcases the distillery’s expertise in cask maturation.”

According to SFWSC judges, our Bushmills “showcases the distillery’s expertise in cask maturation”.

”Finished in Moscatel casks, this whiskey offers a rich and aromatic profile with notes of honey, raisins, and a hint of citrus,” said the judges. “Its higher proof and complex flavour make it a luxurious and memorable choice.”

Knappogue Castle ended up taking out the crown for World’s Best Irish Single Malt from the shortlist.
