Highly sought-after Club exclusive goes under the hammer for more than $2000
The Lakes Whiskymaker’s Editions: Voyage has gone under the hammer in the UK for a whopping £1,100 GBP ($2,115 AUD). That’s more than 16 times the price Whisky Club Members paid for the whisky in February.
When the Club exclusive was announced earlier in the year, The Whisky Club was inundated with requests to ship overseas from international whisky lovers from the US, UK and Europe.
Lakes Distillery Whiskymaker's Editions releases usually go for $170, but thanks to the Club’s buying power, Members paid only $130.
“The feedback we’ve had on the Lakes Voyage was incredible,” says The Whisky Club’s Head of Whisky and Ambassador Seamus Carroll. “The price people are willing to pay to get their hands on our whiskies is testament to their calibre and exclusivity. We’re so proud to bring our Members these world-class whiskies.”
It's not the first time a Club exclusive has fetched a hefty price tag at auction.
In 2021, a bottle of our exclusive Bushmills Marsala Cask went under the hammer in Ireland for €1560, close to $2400. Members paid only $120.
