The Whisky Cub wins big at San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Three of The Whisky Club’s releases have been awarded Gold and Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), one of the oldest and largest competition of its kind and dubbed ‘The Oscars of booze,’  is renowned for setting the standard in excellence in the industry and awards quality, craftsmanship and distinction.

The competition recognises both globally known distilleries as well as small batch producers and emerging distilleries. 

Three of The Whisky Club’s releases, including two whiskies made exclusively for the Club, have been awarded Gold and Double Gold.

Redbreast Pedro Ximénez (PX) Edition

It wowed the judges at San Fran, it’s had whisk(e)y lovers around the globe absolutely drooling and critics raving — and it’s finally here. Thanks to our relationship with the Irish legends, we’ve secured a batch just for The Whisky Club. 

Redbreast Pedro Ximénez (PX) Edition was first released in 2021. Since then, it’s been on whiskey lovers and collectors' most-wanted lists. And here in Australia, thirsty punters have parted with more than $200 to get their hands on a bottle. 

The judges at San Fran awarded it a highly coveted Double Gold and confirmed why everyone wants to get a bottle: it’s incredible.



Tomatin 14 Year Old Caribbean Rum Cask Created Exclusively for The Whisky Club

It was luxuriously finished in the finest Caribbean rum casks from the renowned rum havens of Guadeloupe, Barbados, and Jamaica just for Members. It’s no surprise our Tomatin 14 Year Old Rum Cask picked up a Gold medal because it was made by Tomatin, winners of two Best In Shows and two separate near-perfect 99/100 scores. 

Bursting with banana bread, desiccated coconut, lemon curd, demerara sugar and warm spices, this never-to-be-repeated Club exclusive dazzled the judges.




Benriach 2013 Triple Sherry Cask Created Exclusively for The Whisky Club

It was a layered and beautifully balanced vintage Speyside from the maker of the Club's 2023 Whisky of the Year, Dr Rachel Barrie.

Created Exclusively for the Club by"the Master of the Sherry Bomb", this limited-edition Vintage Benriach is Scotch perfection. It was always destined for big things.

“I’m always thinking of new ideas and really wanting to surprise you, every time,” Dr Rachel Barrie said during our Club catch up and virtual tasting. And that she did. Not only did it wow the judges at San Fran, it had Members drooling: “One of the best whiskies I’ve had!! Very Tasty!,” said Samuel K.
