Hellyers Road 10 Year Old Peated & Pedro Ximénez

It’s time to complete our milestone Australian Decade Series, with one of the modern Australian whisky industry’s four founding distilleries. 

And this is their first ever peated Sherry whisky.

Hellyers Road created this exclusive dram just for the Club by marrying a peated American oak cask with a Pedro Ximénez Sherry cask, then adding 20+ year old stock from their vaults, lending a beautiful silky quality and rounded structure that ties the two casks together. It's the perfect balance of sweet and peat: you won’t be able to get enough of the sticky baklava, mandarin, and light campfire smoke notes in this unique whisky, bottled non-chill filtered and with natural colour, at a wonderfully decadent 56.5% ABV. 

With peat sourced directly from Scotland, and fortified casks from Spain and Portugal, this malt has an Old World whisky feel to it. With only 250 bottles of this special 10 Year Old made, it’s quality over quantity as ever with Hellyers Road.

First laying down spirit in the 1990s alongside Lark, Sullivans Cove and Bakery Hill, Hellyers have been staunchly refining their craft on the lonesome northwest Tasmanian coast for a quarter of a century. With their vast vaults of aged Aussie single malt, it came as no surprise when they were named Australia’s most awarded distillery at the World Whiskies Awards 2024.
