Benriach Unveils its Oldest and Rarest Expression
Big whisky news! Our friends at Benriach have announced its oldest release yet: the Benriach 1966 Cask Aged 50 Years.
The first Benriach to be bottled at 50 years old, the Benriach 1966 Cask Aged 50 Years was first filled with unpeated Benriach spirit in September 1966.
Following decades of maturation in Benriach’s Speyside warehouses, only 37 limited edition bottles have been crafted by Master Blender Doctor Rachel Barrie.
“I am proud to present Benriach 1966 Cask Aged 50 Years as our ultimate treasure,” says Dr Barrie.
“This is our art – a testament to the expertise in and commitment to extraordinary cask maturation at Benriach Distillery.”
Benriach 1966 Cask Aged 50 Years comes in a bespoke crystal decanter inspired by the eclectic casks that fill the distillery’s warehouse and will retail for $48,000.
