Fuji Japanese Whisky Highball Recipe
Highballs typically have three ingredients: whisky, soda water and ice, but it’s still an incredibly complex drink. Especially when you use our Fuji Japanese Whisky because, as Fuji's Master Blender Jota Tanaka says, there's "lots of layers of flavours."
Whisky highballs are very popular in Japan. And we’ve put a bit of a twist on the classic recipe. This one's in a Sauvignon Blanc glass — just as Jota suggests.
It's a super easy cocktail to make, too. Although, in Japan, mixing the perfect highball is an art, and the rules can be strict — all the way down to the number of times you should stir the liquid (13.5 clockwise rotations is the magic number, apparently).
We’ve opted for a less rigid version. Alright, here we go.
Japanese whisky highball ingredients:
60 mls Fuji Japanese Whisky
Soda water (ginger ale also works a treat, too)
Ice cubes
Lemon zest to garnish
Japanese whisky highball method:
1. Fill the Sauvignon Blanc glass with ice cubes
2. Pour the whisky into the glass
3. Top up the glass with soda water
4. Garnish with lemon zest
5. Enjoy!
